Department of Pharmaceutical Chemistry & Analysis is an integral part and the backbone of Pharmacy Education Programme at Shankersinh Vaghela Bapu Institute of Pharmacy, as it covers the essential aspects of New Drug Discovery and Development and since analysis of the raw material as well as the finished product is of prime importance for the safety and efficacy for human consumption. 

The department is extensively involved in under graduate and post graduate teaching with research oriented subjects like Physical Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Chemistry,Medicinal Chemistry, Biochemistry, and the subjects of Pharmaceutical Analysis, and Global Regulatory Requirements of which the student has to acquire an extensive knowledge of current scenario of quality control and quality assurance of pharmaceutical substances. 

The laboratories are designed and equipped with several state of the art technologies including very sophisticated fume hoods. Extensive use of modern audio-visual teaching aids and molecular models make the lessons interesting and student centric. Students are also encouraged to undertake elaborate literature search in the preparation of seminars on the topics assigned to them. The department also gives the knowledge on the advances in instrumentation techniques like UV, FTIR, and HPLC to the students.
